Pros & Cons
Pros
The k845 is worth twice what it sold for and is simply incredible! The build quality is exceptional, with a sturdy yet sleek design that complements my workspace perfectly. This is one sweet rig!
It feels soooo good typing, and i am so fast. Key layout is also very comfortable and matches well with my typist typing style.
The additional programmable keys are a game-changer. The lighted keys and built-in calculator shortcut are an added plus. For the price, this keyboard serves the purpose and has a nice touch.
Only downside is there is no passthrough usb like on the blackwidow. What i like most about it is how the base of the keys are exposed, therefore allowing easy access to blow away dust or trapped crumbs.
Cons
The offset position of the letters on the keys really throws off my typing. I wish i had gone a little bit higher end and just gotten a keyboard that doesn't have any of this headache. The m key in particular struggles to respond.
The default setting is the brightest which just hastens the death of these * over driven leds. It's like having to reset a cheap dollar store string of leds to your preferred setting every time. My claim is still pending, 2 weeks later it stops again.... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Love the ergonomics and the feel and click of the keys.
First, the good: the key switches feel pleasant; solid response and actuation, no early triggers.
All this keyboard is missing is rgb, volume control, and better fonts on the keys and it would be perfect.
My keyboard suffers constant use and abuse.
Price
It often costs under $50 during sales, making it an outstanding purchase at that price point.
This is exactly what i was looking for - affordable performance.
I just couldn’t bring myself to fork out $150 again.
It's an inexpensive mechanical keyboard with brown switches.
Packaging/appearance
Anyway if you don’t care about fancy specs on a keyboard and are looking for something more satisfying than popping the bubbles... Read More
Also, the backplate, if you're into metal and neutral tones, looks quite nice.
Competitiveness
The office keyboard has already lasted longer than other brands and styles i’ve purchased in the past - and it gets a lot of use.
After trying much more expensive options, i've found this particular model to be the best balance between cost and longevity.
If logitech made a g815 with these switches it would be another instant buy for me.
I have a couple of logitech g815s, which are 3x the price.
