Quality
The mouse works great, and it's super portable.
This mouse works much better and i couldn't be happier.
That is not the case with the rubber wheel on the logitech m545.
I took a chance with the m545 which comes close enough in the scroll wheel department.
Packaging/appearance
I plugged in the reciever and i was good to go.
Competitiveness
Also i've been using the panasonic eneloop nimh batteries ever since i got the mouse and that's worked out very well.
Can't speak to other logitech products but for this one, it's great.

Ref glimp 1rv cl which had an uncanny problem of the rubber wheel becoming enlarged and disintegrating

Oh it also feels awkward to hold but that is because i am not used to compact mice
