Pros

The subwoofer is great, the adjustment knob feels sturdy and has good weight. The sub has more than enough thump for my application and the speakers are crisp. The only negative is the volume control knob is very large, and not detachable.

The sound on these is wayyyy better than i had expected. The gold and gloss combo makes it look very high quality. It gets quite loud, fyi.

For me, the sweet spot is a little above halfway. Mids and highs are incredible. Highs are a little crisper on the 623 as well.

The z533 speaker system provides wide range sound with substantial output capability. I miss the more rich treble a real tweeter provides, but i am just satisfied with the warm sound the system provides.

Cons

Feels like *, not smooth. God forbid you touch it. If you barely touch the cone, it stops. Controller is too big for it to go through most computer desk openings.

I then tested a higher volume and they were still crytal clear with zero distortion.

Perfect bang for your buck for an entertainment set up.

If you want music to sound good, you need a subwoofer and this set is great for the price.

Not good for the money, but the best out there for what i need

Packaging/appearance

I would have returned it but it seemed to be packed by an engineer so i decided to keep it.

Competitiveness

Sounds amazing, even better than my old $400 bose (i only paid $60 for the bose used).

I purchased logitech speakers just like this back in 2002.

The sound quality was 10-fold better than the mackies.

I tried some comparable pc speakers without a subwoofer and the difference was night and day.
