This does work just fine with the ipad air but it's clear that was not the original tablet it was designed for.

I thought only apple made them but the apple keyboard leaves the back of the ipad unprotected and those little “chiclet” keys just don’t work for me

Plus it doesn’t have a holder for my apple pencil

The keys feel more natural and detaching it requires no work whatsoever when i want to use the ipad by itself
