Pros

The 64mm zoom is amazing. Placement makes a very big difference. This calms the headlights, and brake lights down. This is more challenging to setup than ring, nest, and blink cameras.

This camera replaces the older workhorse 5231-z12. It takes a decent amount of fiddling and technical knowhow to set it up for lpc. I wish this camera had specific lpr/anpr software build-in.

What’s the point of a blurry camera? Camera constantly loses focus and autofocus is useless. Comes with no instructions, just a card saying to go to a website to download instructions.

I don’t see any issues like this with the 5241-z12.

Competitiveness

Also remember this is a 2mp starlight+ camera and therefore does amazingly well in low light and challenging install conditions.

I have it connected to a poe switch and hook up to a hikvision nvr with onvif setting.

That said, if you can afford $650, and want built-in lpr analytics, get a hikvision lpr specifically designed to capture plates.

This is normal and usually when a plate enters the scene, it'll practically glow in the dark.
