Pros & Cons
Pros
This bar greatly improves the stability of the ladder. It also provides a way to stand off from the vertical wall so that you can work on the fascia boards. Performs as advertised.
Works like a charm on my 16' extension ladder. The arms are long enough to rest on my roof and it attached easily to my werner multi function ladder.
Used it under the eaves to patch, caulk, paint in addition to cutting in onto the wall below the eave to paint. That means you won't have to risk bending backwards to reach around the roof-overhang (the eave) when you clear leaves from the gutter's do... Read More
The stabilizer is a simple fabrication, made of aluminum with adjustable standoff brackets. Fits my werner mt-26 telescoping ladder perfectly. The standoff distance is adjustable and fairly easy to move.
Cons
I am very displeased to receive an item only to find it completely unusable. There was no bolts and wingnuts in the package. The bars attach to the u bolts bent after one use.
Stabilizer already half assembled and scratches everywhere. Rubber on the stabilizer leaves huge black scuff marks! Discounted to $49.
Highlights
Quality
I'm impressed how sturdier this made my ladder feel.
Solid product, adaptable, and tool-free adjustment using wing nuts.
Took it back apart and tried to assemble according to instructions but the bolts were too long to assemble that way.
Nothing about how to fasten the stabilizer to your ladder using the u-bolts!
Shipping
Item arrived rapidly and in good shape, relatively easy to install.
Packaging/appearance
So, the image i've uploaded here is a photo i took of the instructions on the box.
I just unpacked and installed the adjustable arms, the aluminum is thicker than it appears in images and should work well.
Competitiveness
All hardware included, too, unlike another brand i bought and returned.
I was choosing between this louisville ladder stabilizer and the werner stabilizer.
