Worked out of the box in a lenovo ts460 server when plugged in to the factory drive cage. Just plugged in the drives and truenas recognized everything right away. Has been running stably under high load for several days.

The card pushes out at 12gb/sec, making data availability extremely fast. It adds a bit of time to the startup sequence, but that's to be expected. Getting 480mb/s transferring from a ssd to nvme.

Cons

The device was already flashed to firmware p16. Swapped cables, different mobos and ports but to no avail.

I have been through a couple cheaper ide cards.

Shipping

They were fast to ship me a new faceplate.

Arrived in the time frame stated by amazon, well packaged and undamaged.

The shipment was pretty fast from the usa to south africa.

I'm just docking them a star for not shipping exactly what was advertised for and having to put in extra legwork to swap the firmware.

Packaging/appearance

This card came stamped lsi, and cables are not included.

That said, this hba card arrived in a bag (oem static) along with a generic driver cd and instruction sheet.

The package itself was wrapped well enough, though there was some denting and deformation to the exterior packaging.

Competitiveness

Compatible with freebsd which means it will also be compatible with truenas as well as many other bsd variants.
