I have a more expensive big name brand tape that i have to fight to get it to lock

The only problem with the tape is minor in that the selflocking mechanism is released by pressure on a large area of the tape bottom

Thats a nice very convenient place to put it because your fingers are usually already over it but that also can cause slippage of the tape if you put accidental pressure on the release mechanism

The blade comes out 12 inch above the bottom of the body
