Pros & Cons
Pros
Lutron caseta line of switches are excellent. Dimmer switch works great. Smart bulb counterparts are so so so much betterthan their smart bulb counterparts. I also have several of their lamp dimmer modules.
Unless you have some huge mansion, this is really all the setup you really need to automate lighting. Fills the need for a simplified approach that integrates with new and old residential systems. Easy to install, easy to program, dims gracefully.
Bought these after reading a ton of reviews. Fairly universal that these are the cream of the crop. They are very pricey though, which is the only drawback to me. Completely happy with the purchase.
Cons
Turning off has a fast-but-noticeable dimming function. But who uses incandescent bulbs? The only leds this caseta works with are expensive smart bulbs. If you want to add motion sensors switches or remote sensors your out of luck with caseta.
I have lutron products all over my house and this is the first product to disappoint. Will not be purchasing again. What is this dumpster fire of a product listing?
Lutrons caseta and maestro product lines are confusing and incompatible like they’re still trying to figure out the diy audience. Although i'm a network and software engineer, i find the usability deplorable. The out of box experience is a failure. Th... Read More
Highlights
Quality
This has been a solid and outstanding system with zero issues that i have used to run my homes for the past three years.
Bullet-proof connection, consistent performance, and a great app with great features like scheduling, random away modes, etc.
I’ve tried a lot of other smart devices and experienced problems like disconnecting or just not responding this has been rock-solid.
All of the caseta products are top notch.
Price
I know they are a bit pricey but worth every penny!
This setup is worth every single penny.
They are just way overpriced for what you get.
They are a bit pricey so i purchase them piece by piece.
Shipping
Shipping was fast, install was super easy.
I assume it would have worked better with the hub if it didn’t arrive too late!
Packaging/appearance
Now it is great to have our lights turn on in the morning so we can see as we pack our baby up for daycare and great to have th... Read More

Mine was four separate boxes of products not the single retail pack.
Competitiveness
I’ve tried other brands just for kicks and most flat-out don’t function at all.
If you are looking for ‘no neutral’ devices, there is nothing that comes close to lutron.
Setup was significantly easier than other iot products.
There are less expensive smart dimming solutions.

I’ve got a contact sensor in my pantry and a lutron switch for the light setup so the pantry light will come on when the door is opened and goes off when the door is closed

I tried using the second light switch to control my ceiling fan but the fan made a weird noise

I would suggest placing the remote at the most used location because of the 50 light button on the remote

Smart switches turned out to be a better fit for us because they dont die like smart bulbs so you shouldnt have to replace them and they still turn on with voice control or scheduled routines even if the switch accidentally gets flipped down

Also we incorrectly assumed that if we didnt have dimmable bulbs then that feature just wouldnt work and the switches would be limited to just on and off
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
We were wrong you must have dimmable bulbs for these to work properly
