In a world where lying is a kind of spending currency to disburse ones accumulated or assumed or perceived goodwill as a person of integrity and gravitas harris blows gigantic holes in the idea that such behavior can somehow strike a balance since the telling of what one believes to be fact on a regular basis can be largely undone by one or two small acts of untruth

Were all going to be softening our words to prevent hurt and no one in society expects brutal damaging honesty to others
