Pros & Cons
Pros
Three-pronged potentiometer, with the pot's control knob replaced with a foot lever actuator. The plug is a basic ¼ stereo plug that you would expect to find on - for example - an old stereo set of headphones. K low limit trim potentiometers that is i... Read More
Great value pedal that can be configured to work with many devices. Excellent complement for headrush gigboard. Works fine; decent price. But its still works. And bonus…. Just the ticket.
This pedal has a low profile and flawless sweep. Once it is taped to the floor so it won't scoot around, it works great.
Sturdy, but not bulletproof. As for sturdiness, well. Made of plastic but seems to be pretty sturdy.
Works great with the boss gt-1 and the zoom g3n as a external pedal. Works without any issues with my eventide h9. Worked well on my korg pa3x keyboard plugged in the pedal port.
Cons
The linkage between the treadle and potentiometer is made of flimsy plastic that is destined to fail under even the most optimistic conditions. This is planned obsolescence of the worst sort.
Ex-p pedal works intermittently or not at all. Support in seetwarer is a joke. Volume jumps while fading in strings, for example, on my keyboard. Unusable for a midi keyboard controller daw.
Highlights
Quality
Works flawlessly with the novation impulse midi keyboard and the trim knob very useful in setting the expression range
This is a light weight but sturdy item.
This tells me the resistor used on the dial isn't very accurate as zero position hovers between 3 and 5 (in midi).
It is made of hard plastic and the base is made of metal.
Price
For the price, i was truly impressed.
I liked them because for the money, it's a good full-featured vol/cv controller.
And did not cost me and arm and a leg.
No need to spend over $100 for a 'beefier' version.
Shipping
I did get mine from a local warehouse, in the us and was delivered in 2 days.
Packaging/appearance
Not sure if international these take a beating…but it’s decently packaged.
Competitiveness
I bought this pedal to use on my older m-audio keystation88es, and unlike an off-brand pedal i previously bought, it has the fu... Read More
I would highly recommend the m-audio as a low cost alternative to the boss branded pedal!
It’s like comparing a mooer pedal which is great, but we all know those small pedals can break after a lot of abuse.
