The only downfall is the cap doesn’t seat well over the pointed end and falls off easily.

This was a "eh, its only $10, i can try it" type purchase.
If you are on the fence because of the price i promise this tac pen is worth it
For its price, i don't think you can beat it for its function.

It's very similar to the crkt tactical pen which i love but not at >$50 for which it now lists.
The m-tac type 3 is a bit heavier and slightly more bulky than the crkt but at half the price.

It has a flat top so you can place your thumb over it to get a better grip should you need to utilize the pointed end
