Pros & Cons
Pros
Thin and very sharp blade makes short work of slicing through dense vegetables like carrots. Super sharp, high quality stainless steel and ergonomic design.
Cons
Even the blade seems thinner. I am convinced that either mac has become cheap and inferior to their original knives. Will send it back.
Highlights
Quality
This is still one of my most consistent go-to knives for prep slicing, paring & small batch chopping.
This knife is sharp, easy to use, gets the job done.
I purchased as a replacement, but the mac knives don't die, i had the old one professionally sharpened.
It's literally a razor blade with a handle.
Price
However, i did buy mine at the local japanese grocery store in menlo park, ca for $27.
I love amazon for the convenience and selection, but that's a pretty big price difference.
Competitiveness
Worthy successor to the old katana knife, its predecessor.
I spend almost as much on another brand and it was dull within 2 months.
I accidentally tripped over mac knives on amazon when a different model showed up as a lightning deal.
