Pros
Mac is a fine knife. It didn't immediately start to rust after the first use like the shun did.
This is the best paring knife i have ever used. Definitely the beginning of my new suite of knives. Anxious to add to my collection.
It's maintained its sharpness over the last several months of light use. Never once needed to sharpen it. Easy to maintain razor edge using steel hone.
This thing is crazy sharp and it performs exceedingly well. Very sharp so be cautious if you are accustomed to cheap kitchen knives. Amazingly sharp knife.
The quality of all of my mac knifes is excellent. This size is near perfect and it is sharp as *.
Cons
If you desire perfection, you won't get it buying this knife. The pairing knife comes with a flaw that affects the rest of the knife. This knife is not worth the money at all.
By the 3rd use it was rusted on the tip and near the handle. No way to clean that off as it is pitted. A small amount of rust.

Came super sharp, cuts through things well and has a light, dextrous feel in the grip.
Competitiveness
I have purchased an assortment of knives by different makers over the years but this one is my all time favorite.
I tried the mac knife paring knife (despite the obvious "mac-the-knife" song analogy.
This knife replaced a much more expensive "boutique" paring knife with this one and am much happier.
You can get much more expensive knives, but i'm not sure you can get a better one for everyday use.

That bank knife qualifies as a relic but its still usable and has a longer blade than new paring knives
