Pros & Cons
Pros
The sharpness and maneuverability are the things i like about it the most. Craftsmanship is there.
For this mac. Thumbs up from me. I really like it alot! This isnt the sexiest looking knife but it is really good.
The mac slices through onions like a razor blade. It makes quick work of chopping carrots, cabbage, celery and even meat. It's very light and thin, which works really well for slicing and chopping through onions and vegetables.
Cons
Angel seller, the provider i bought the knife from on this link, is not an authorized reseller. My advice to prospective buyers is to inspect any mac knife carefully.
The knife is sharp but the blade nicks easily - a sign that the blade metal is not hardened. There is a gap where the handle meets the blade at the front end of the handle because the knife tang is forged with a slight convex curve. It chipped 4 place... Read More
Total bevel angle (sum of the bevels on both sides of the blade) is 45. The bevel, based on visual inspection, appears to be about 80/20 or 70/30, biased right hand.
Highlights
Quality
As a chef, i like the lightweight hand feel, quality construction and durability of this brand.
Easy to handle and sharp as a tack, it’s my wife’s fave.
The knife developed little rust stains on it after only using it for a week.
Without proper care, the knife will yes rust.
Price
All in all a great knife for the money.
Expensive at $80 buck but not outrageous.
If you're willing to put a tiny bit of care into it, its great for the price.
Packaging/appearance
Not only a stunning and elegant knife but comes in beautiful, giftable packaging (thank you, me lol!
The box is really nice for gift giving.
Competitiveness
This is my first santoku, so i can't compare it to others.

It will get rust spots if you dont wash and dry it immediately after using

Its normal for some knives like carbon steel and nonstainless to need that kind of care but the amazon product description for this knife says rustresistant which it definitely is not

I dont mind babying it though so its not a dealbreaker for me

One thing i dont like about it is that the relatively flat edge makes it harder to do a rocking motion on the cutting board to finely chop nuts and vegetables like you see people doing in cooking videos

I still got by with it as my main knife for a year or so before i got a similar quality chefs knife to go with it and i still prefer it over the other one for quickly slicing through onions peppers and other veggies because of how light and easy to handle it is

Overall its definitely a step up from the 2050 dollar knives ive had in the past so the price seems fair
