Its not designed to accommodate the apple pencil in charge position though on the new ipad pro the pencil attaches to the top of the screen using magnets so the flap on the bag doesnt close properly when it is in place

I just wouldn’t recommend putting anything into the pockets at the front as they seem to be tight and due to that it puts pressure on the laptop a harsh knock would put increasing pressure on your laptop from the items with inside the small pockets potential damaging the display

Fits my 2019 macbook perfectlyalthough not sure it would fit if it also had a hard case around it
