Pros & Cons
Pros
This is the best second book to read if you are an absolute beginner. This book genuinely deserves all 4 & 5-star marks given by reviewers. I wish there could be more exercises, but it is a nice step to start.

Machine learning incorporates several hundred statistical-based algorithms. Theobald's book is more advanced, contains more details. A good introduction and reference of toolkits needed to begin a rudimentary machine learning program.
Cons
Some ridiculous cases when the author writes a formula, for instance 1/(1+e^(-x)) and spells is our in words one divided by the sum of one and exponent …. Don't buy it.

Competitiveness
Would reccomend fpr anyone wanting to know more about the workings of machine learning without having to have an advanced math ... Read More
I general it is good book, which i would recommmend reading as a starting point for its structured approach.
But machine learning can feel big and complex to a novice.
