We have used it multiple times without any problems with the exception of having to adjust it.
Personally at this point i don't think i'd recommend this product.

(update)i have since gotten another madbite to give it another try and it has worked beautifully.
The very first fish she weighed, a 25lb catfish, wiggled a little and that was all it took.

Trying to get a fish to sit still while you shove the hook on the old style scales into its gill slits was pretty much impossible unless the fish was dead

Just remember to turn it on and zero cal it before you hook it to the fishs face parts
