Pros & Cons
Pros
Makita adapter and makita hose with a shop vac on the other end dramatically reduces sanding dust. Of the dust that previously went airborne is now collected by the hose. Works great on the biscuit jointer but a more flexivle hose would be easier to w... Read More
Makita 3/4 hose fits a 1 1/4 vacuum hose -- and it does fit exactly! Also fits the 9403 belt sander dust port. The hose is high quality and fits my sander really well but the end that connects to the vacuum is pain. It's a very snug fit as other revie... Read More
Also have a corded version). It's a solid hose, and it therefore has a bit of weight to it, so as i use it more i'll be finding a way to hold the hose on my bench (maybe a string or a clamp) to take the weight of the rest of the hose. That was easily ... Read More
Cons
The hose is extremely restrictive. Heed the other warning about this tubing being stiff as a brick.
The material of the hose end is not elastic enough to fit so the assembly is being returned. The only way to use it is to tape up this sleeve. Save your money by making a connector and using a real hose.
The hose itself feels like it's pretty decent quality, but without a way to hook it up to my sander it's not that useful. The 13/16th inch od of the orbital sander and the slightly less than 3/4 id of this too stiff hose. Seems like a knock off, did n... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Good acessories for a finish sander works well, very good quality hose and fittings
Thanks to whoever came up with the hot water idea.
No problem with the hose, per se, and i will devise a way to rig it up.
That way the sander will be lighter in my hand with the hose attached.
Packaging/appearance
This hose slips into the 18v vacuum hose and makes for a nice long hose.
I pushed onto the sander and when it cooled it fit perfectly.
Competitiveness
I had to use a ridgid vacuum accessory adapter with the tip cut off to connect to my ridgid shop-vac, but it does the job.
Perfect for makita bo5041k 5-inch random orbit sander.
I've got a ridgid shop vac with a cyclone to catch the dust, but haven't (until now) been able to find a hose that connects to the sander.
This product was sort of recommended when i purchased the makita bo5041k 5-inch random orbit sander.

Yes it might be a little snug but i was able to twist it on by hand with some slight effort its not like i had to break out the heat gun or pliers

Mine too seemed to be too small to fit over my makita variable speed random orbit sander when it arrived but it i put the end in mildly hot water per someones suggestion for about 15 seconds and it then slid over the sanders exhaust easily
