This product works just like the original batteries.
They last about 5 years with the hard use they get, but they keep on tickin'.
Price
The price was great because at the time i ordered makita was giving money off immediately on purchases over a cartain price.
The twin pack was a better price so i got it.
Packaging/appearance
The only thing that is weird is that the packaging says made in japan but the batteries say china.
Product worked as expected even thought the original packaging was basically destroyed.
Competitiveness
Lots more power over the stock ni-cad batteries.

I have some 2008 batteries that are still kicking yet a couple 2011 batteries cant hold charges anymore

Due to the high cost of makita brand name batteries i opted to buy a compatible off brand which lasted only about a year before failing to take a lasting charge
