Pros

This makita belt sander is a beast! It's a heavy piece (the box it came in was as heavy as the chinese unit i returned, if that's a clue) they are evenly matched with power and quality workmanship.

This sander is a beast when it comes to sanding wood slabs. It sands like 80 grit should. Dust collection works well. Great for the roughest grits but not for the final ones.

Cons

Makita 4x24 belt sander works fine, but the dust collector snapped off on the first day of use. Sandpaper rips from the friction against the inside of the belt.

The 9403 clearly had been used before. What kind of policy does amazon have when it comes to dealing with returned merchandise? The makita box it comes in is not a shipping box. Note on amazon return.
