Pros

Belt change is simple with the flip of a lever. Installing new belts is beyond easy. There's a trigger lock switch that allows you to keep it running without having to put constant pressure on the trigger.

This is spectacularly better than my ancient previous sander. It's relatively quiet for a belt sander and solid but maneuverable. Ergonomically it's okay maybe not the very best but still good.

Dust collection is very good, and i like the clip that holds the bag closed--zippers on dust bags eventually clog with dust and stop operating. The dust collection system is a cloth bag with a large opening that allows for quick dumping of the sawdust... Read More

This is the fist makita belt sander i've owned. Great seller.

Has a two prong plug on a generously long cord.

Cons

This makita is miles beyond them in quality.

Shipping

It was in the original box and the box had been taped for shipping.

Slow speed lets one do precision work, and fast really cuts.

Packaging/appearance

The belt on it had some wear and there was fine sawdust on the belt and inside the bottom of the sander when it was taken out of the box.

Competitiveness

I would have to return it and buy it again at a higher price.

Just the fact it has like an 10ft cord compared to a 4ft on a cheep brand says a lot.
