Makita 18v lxt lithium-ion 5. The light output is great and one battery usually lasts several hours. Battery lasts as long as advertised.

This tool is garbage. Their quality is subpar now. There is no way that the people that ordered this tool, and are leaving favorable reviews, have not had problems with this light.

Competitiveness
The function and ergonomics are typical makita excellent, far superior in this respect to yellow brand tools.
Im also impressed that it worked with other makita battery packs.
The light output is nearly comparable to the coleman north star lanterns we use and a bit more environmentally friendly.
I much prefer this over another makita light that i bought at the same time.
