Quality
The quality is top notch and the features are great!
I use it all the time- camping, car wrenching, lighting up coyotes with the ar15- works awesome.
Most led lights have such poor color quality it is hard to see what you are looking at, even if it is brightly lit.
Not near the light ryobi is, but very light and handy with the flood option.
Price
I think the price is just too high for this flashlight.
Competitiveness
Great flashlight and a good addition to my 18v maktia collection.
I use the makita 5ah batteries and the light last an extremely long time, with a full charge it will last longer than i can .
The battery would last for several hours on a 4ah.
If you don't own other makita 18v cordless tools, you will want to pass on this.

Sure enough the flood mode lit up my living room approx 140 sq ft very well when i sat it down on the coffee table and pointed the light at the ceiling

It’s almost ideal but i was disappointed to learn that it isn’t water resistant at all so it’s only appropriate for use under shelter or in good weather conditions outdoors

Use outdoors will be severely limited by this restriction otherwise i would have given it 5 stars
