Pros & Cons
Pros
Works very well with charger and tool. Not designed really for the ripsaws and hammer drills but can certainly drive a lot of screws. The larger capacity batteries are great, but twice as heavy and twice the price.
The combo with a drill, impact drive, charger and 2 batteries is roughly $230 on amazon. Just swap in a new battery.
Cons
One battery lasts seconds drilling into 2x4 before showing fatigue and failing. The other battery throws the "your battery is toast" code on the charger. Very nice drill one of two batteries no longer works.

After reading all the other reviews, i expected to have problems with the 1.
I did talk to a makita dealer who wishes to remain anonymous, and he said that were problems with the 1.
Competitiveness
They are much lighter than the 3ah which gives the drill/driver a better balance.
Great product and compared to other brands can't compare
They are a bit pricy but they are original makita brand.
