Pros

Dust collector works shockingly well and leaves very little dust to be vacuumed.

First of all my hand feels a little numb after using it. Compared to a couple of other sanders, this is the smoothest i've used. Though there is still some vibration adjusting the grip usually fixes the problem.

The porter cable is 400$6. This was easily remedied by using the fein step adaptor. Nice saw. Fein sells an inexpensive adapter that fits well.

Rmp is very important. Highly recommended. Works really well. It works as intended.

Makita is quality and longevity. The case is very durable. My old one was still like new but stolen to buy drugs.

Cons

For a sander that is supposed to be all about how effective the dust filter is i am shocked at how poorly the fastening device is. The dust collector pops off constantly.

I had a wen detail sander and had been using it for a big project but the excessive vibration was wearing my hands down.

I love it and what a great price!

Fein sells an inexpensive adapter that fits well.

I can see why he wanted to spend the money on this one.

Also i'm a sucker for hard cases so i was quite happy it was included for the price.

Amazon replaced it very quickly with no fuss, thank you.

Packaging/appearance

Mine arrived with a broken speed control thumbwheel, which might be related to the inside design of the case.

My only issue was the box had been opened.

This sander is far superior to the dewalt i had.

I have a part time furniture business and am changing all my tools over to makita as i upgrade.

First orbital sander i've ever owned so i can't compared it to other brands.

I have used bosch and dewalt, but decided i wanted to try the makita because i have been pleased with other makita tools.
