Pros & Cons

Pros

The orbital sander sands well, and that's the most important feature. It works well and for a sander, isn't all that loud. The ease of sanding pad removal and replacement is faster than a nascar crew.

It's quieter, lighter and leaves no streaking the way my old makita (from the 80's) does. The variable speed adjustment is simple and smooth. My only complaint is, the adjustable speed dial is inconsistent.

Cons

Dust collection is abysmal compared to my old sander. The port on the sander is very small which i assume restricts airflow. After only 6-7 hours of sanding started to throw the sandpaper pads off. The makita hose is hit or miss for connecting to this...  Read More

It's entirely possible that the one i got is a fluke that has some kind of flaw. The pad's hooks are fairly weak and have compressed badly over time.

This unit on the highest speed, 5, is pretty weak. It vibrates and oscillates much more than it orbits. It does that most of the time now, rendering it annoying and possibly dangerous.

Would not recommend gambling on this product. Very disappointed. Luckily it is only 2 weeks after i bought it so i definitely sending it back. Would not buy it again.

For the price, i'm very happy with the sander!

I bought this out of curiosity and was impressed by the quality build and the quality of the finishing sanding job it left, esp...  Read More

It did seem that the sand paper did load up with a white dust from the avonite pretty fast.

Competitiveness

I won’t say it’s equivalent to festool, but it does an excellent job.

It works great except for hitting corners since it’s a round sander.

We have over a dozen ros in our shop, which are considered high-end brands.

It's not a festool, but if you need a multi use sander, would highly recommend this one.

On the whole i prefer the other style without the handle

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Maybe for some production jobs the handle might be useful but on smaller project it makes the sander difficult to use and i hate the lack of an onoff switch

On this model you have to pull the 34trigger34 and then hit the lock button if you want it to stay on

And if you want you may then tape over the vacuum hose and the pipe
