For hand held use i'd suggest the smaller 2ah battery is used.
Given the weight and size of the battery is the same for the 3, 4, & 5ah batteries it can be rather heavy for continued hand held use.

Makita has 18 leds and no heatsink the led head is slightly tacky no reinforcement either onoff switch in wrong place at the grip instead of under the trigger finger

Website did not show the model number so was unable to register it makita uk claim its an accessory so does not qualify however usa site allows registration so taking this complaint further with makita

I raised a complaint with makita regarding their extended warranty which excluded work lights in the uk but everywere else makita offer it
