Pros

Negative reviews should not deter you from purchasing this item. This product is a beast.

Makita has the engineering ability to build this pump to any specs they want. Its reasonably light, quiet, powerful and well featured. Fast, lightweight and quiet.

Cons

Pressure gauge and auto shutoff are inaccurate and variable. Turns off before reaching preset psi. Shows err on the screen.

The digital gauge on my inflator is roughly 20% if u work with typical car tires. The hose can't be removed so you're stuck with the bike tire clip-on adapter. Unless you own a bike shop or are coaching a soccer or basketball team forget about this.

This thing is slow and noisy. Delusional- can neither justify or accept this experience for the money.

Overall though, it is extremely overpriced for what you get. Some are nearly perfect, many are good, but with inexplicable flaws and weaknesses. The accuracy leaves a lot to be desired.

Competitiveness

I tried the same technique with my rigid and found that this solved the issue i was having with it.

The rigid certainly wins in the feature department.

It’s also nice that, while people have differing opinions on brands, makita make good stuff.

Since i have used both devices, i can provide a little comparison:price: makita: $109 on amazon ($129 at hd); rigid $89 at hd.
