Pros

Performs well. Ergonomics are nice. It feels robust and well made. Lcd screen is clear and allows you to switch to different measurement types depending on your preference or needs.

This portable inflator is great to just grab and go and check the tires. Works great and surprisingly fast with large truck and trailer tires. Filled 2 riding lawnmowers approximately 10psi in 8 tires. Even fills my 35 truck tires to 55 psi no problem... Read More

I already have lots of makita lith-ion tools/batteries so this was a no brainer. And the battery lasts a long time. Just for reference used a 5 amp battery, still at full charge.

I like the clips for storing the hose quickly so it doesn't flop around. The pressure release is handy for when the shop overinflates your tires. You can always reinflate to spec.

Cons

Makita's inflator is pricey. The battery pack costs $129, which immediately increases the total price to almost $300 for a portable inflator. Makita could have done a better job protecting this item if you distribute through amazon.

Does not stop at preset pressure. They sell a gadget that you velcro on to hold the trigger.

Excellent makita inflator, used it to fill totally flat tire, worked perfectly and quick, less than 4 minutes to reach 38 psi.

Helps keep my vehichles tires accurate , quick and precise .

Most of the either leak air through cracks in the hose or cannot be held against a tire nozzle in such a way that it seals.

Noisy and doesn't allow you to set and forget with the trigger.

Price

Awesome value for such a small thing.

I’m totally satisfied with this tool that’s worth every penny.

And then it costs a buck or two (quarters only) and the time runs out before i finish the last tire.

So, it's not inexpensive, but a person still gets what you pay for.

As soon as i got it delivered, i used it every day for a week.

Competitiveness

This is worlds better than a mid-priced 12v plug-in style air compressor.

Awesome addition to the makita line up.

Well, this one did it in 42 seconds and the cheaper version took 82 seconds.

The other direct competitor is the milwaukee but it has an odd footprint and i personally find it to be rather large but just my opinion.
