That is my only criticism of a well designed product.
Makita would have fixed it under the warrantee but nearest service center is over an hour from my home which is in a very rural area.

The eb7650th does the job, i'd say 3 to 4 times as fast as the hand held makita.

Straps are comfortable but ill likely add a proper waist strap no brand has them to ensure it sits on my hips like a hiking pack not hangs from my back

I will admit it is a little on the heavy side about 2lbs more than 2 cycle competitors but more than makes up for that extra weight by how quiet it is while running and no exhaust smoke to choke on like 2 cycle machines
