Pros
Makita 7 grinder is not at all expensive compared to the high dollar ones for professional use. Home depot rents this exact tool out in their tool rental for $30/4 hours.
Time saver. Powerful. Motor does not bog down on thick cuts. Far cry from wimpy, bargain basement, off brand tools that are flooding the market.
Strong and durable. Great combo with the 195386-6 dust shroud. Makita dust shroud connected to a shop vacuum makes this an almost dust free solution.
Head lock button is large and easy to use even with gloves on. Double trigger takes a couple uses to use mindlessly but after an afternoon with it, i no longer think about it. I usually work with the guard off ( i know you're unsafe by doing this) as ... Read More
Cons
It mounts grinding wheels just fine, but anything that is thin at the hub cannot be mounted. Took extra care to keep grinder clean but starting shorting out while using upon the 3rd use.

Worked well with the makita brand dust shroud.
This along with the makita 195386-6 dust extractor will give nearly dust free floor grinding.
Used with the makita dust attachment and diamond grinding blade and the dust was insignificant.
With the vacuum attachments, i was able to clear 70 square feet of 1/4 thick dry adhesive in 30 minutes.
Competitiveness
This thing is a work horse and far out performs the more expensive brands i previously owned.
The first three were all different brands.
We kept tripping the breaker running this and a shopvac for dust extraction.

Missing bottom inner flange washerthis has a round ring that the wheel seats tightly onsome reviews said the wheel was wobbling and that is because this washer is missingdo not use without this part

Ive always used the smaller grinders for my bigger projects and after a while you realize that not only is it hard on the grinder its also hard on you

The first disc i purchased was the diamabrush 7 concrete abrasive removal hand tool model 9207001202 which would not fit on this grinder with the dust shroud installed furthermore the diamabrush disc left a very course surface on the concrete and had a tendency to skip all over the place and was ultimately a very disappointing purchase i promptly returned it 3 days later after 15 minutes of use

There is essentially no vibration transfer and the switch lock makes if effortless
