It's outside and sunny but the reader works perfectly. Maybe a little too perfectly. Highly recommend though.
Cons
They sell a totally different funky looking receiver for that specific laser only.

My expectation is that makita would anticipate that their reader would be used with other brands of lasers and put some sort of caution in the instructions
