Pros & Cons
Pros
This is the quietest air compressor i've ever owned. Much quieter than the pancake style ones that i have heard in the past. Super quick recharging.
The handle wraps around and makes lifting manageable. It is a little on the heavy side but for the money this one is a keeper.
Added a 4 gallon storage tank to compressor tank drain. Quick release connectors and ball valve. Nice part is it stays put when running.
Cons
This compressor is rubbish. Sadly, that isn't what i got it for. Got some use out of it but still disappointed; expected more.
The unloading elbow was snapped off from the check valve assy. Makita has a problem in the packing of these compressor's which leaves the valve exposed to being crushed inside the container. The biggest problem is i cannot get the correct inlet valve ... Read More
These compressors are all coming busted up or rebuilt by amazon and sold as new. Big rip off. I have to take it to the authorized repair (closest one is 40 miles from home) and let them look at it.
Highlights
Quality
Good quality parts/welds (compressor portion, welds, paint, fittings, gauges).
Very well made air compressor, extremely happy with it.
The regulator was the first to fail about 4 years and the pressure switch started leaking at 5 years.
This has been in my garage powering tools and lifts, hauled around to job-sites, dropped, knocked over, left out in the rain, you name it.
Price
5 gallons for price i paid really made this a great buy !
I expect so and it's so cheap i can't see not doing it.
That task by itself was worth the cost.
It is a little on the heavy side but for the money this one is a keeper.
Shipping
Shipping from acme tools without a issue, arrived in perfect condition from fedex.
Delivered in 2 days from time of order.
A full inspection the next day showed that the compressor is shipped with a disposable plug in the fill port of the compressor crank case.
Shipping was bad, some damage, however amazon was great to resolve the issue.
Packaging/appearance
So mine was packed well and had no damage.
Well packaged, easy set-up, screw in a filter, add a bottle of supplied oil, plug it in and run for 20 minutes with the air rel... Read More
I could hear inside the box, about a million pieces loose.
Doesn't look like any damage from shipping, because the box was fine except for some oil they use to test it with was all over ... Read More
Competitiveness
Compared to the old pc, the difference is incredible.
Read many reviews, compared other compressors, and settled on this due to what i would be using it for (frequency) and price.
After comparing the decibel level of this unit to my "porter-cable" (read no name rebranded disposable pos) i was a bit worried... Read More
