The slots are too small for anything larger like a tool handle or larger sharpie or carpenters pencil

I had to cut the stitching in between two of the slots to get my electricians scissors to fit

Either a heavier larger gauge metal zipper should be installed or omit the zipper entirely in favor of a couple buckle closures up front

The vest isnt very breathable on the front and back and i find myself leaving it open to avoid sweating
