This is my first makita tool and i am very pleased with the quality.
This is my first router set and i am very pleased with the purchase.
I handled a 2 1/4 pc in a store, and was not at all impressed with the quality, and the on/off switch was horrible.
All in all, i'm perfectly happy with the router kit, and i look forward to years of routing with it.
Packaging/appearance
Only thing i would change about my review is the fact that i regularly have a very difficult time getting the bits out of the collet!
Competitiveness
I have used a few porter cable, bosch and ridgid routers, but this set feels smoother, more powerful and more accurate.

If you want to make a speaker cut out thats exactly 918s youll need a router and a circle cutting jigtemplate

The switch on the top is not optimal and should be placed near the handles so one can turn it off with still two hands on the machine

The plunge action is not as smooth as others bosch porter cable milwaukee but the machine itself seems to bebetter engineered
