Pros

Makita router is midway between a roto-zip type tool and a larger 1/4 router. As a cnc spindle it has a really great speed control range that actually works. Wish it had a built in holder for the wrench.

The collet handles only bits with 1/4 shanks, but i don't find that constraint to be a problem. The only gripe i have is the bits get jammed in the collet and i have to push them out with a screwdriver. This router is ideal for edge work with router b... Read More

I plug it in and its just hums then stinks like plastic. What a great way to burn up a hundred bucks. I got a router that was used, and someones cat either tried to sleep with or had carnal relations with and proceeded to * all over it.

The depth of a dado changed by 1/8 over a length of 14. If you want to use this for precise routing where you’ll have to inch your way up to the depth this is not going to do it. This is a dysfunctional engineering disaster.

Easy to grip, soft start, easily adjustable, and plenty powerful enough for most work for this size router.

I made the mistake of not changing our the brushes (i didn’t know i needed to over time) and burnt the motor.

Pair it with a good quality bit for best outcome (of course).
