Pros

The quality and features of the makita is well above the cheapies, which aren't that much cheaper. Super intuitive to setup and use. For under $10 it's worth a try.

They’re one of the cornerstones of my cabinetry business. Super reliable, more powerful than expected, and very versatile.

I use a 1/4 3-flute square corner carbide endmill from ma ford that runs about $40, plunging into high density pvc foam board. Only gripe is the bits get jammed in the collet and i have to push them out with a screwdriver.



Cons

The wrench that is meant to tighten the collet and secure the router bit doesn't really fit in the housing -- it fits around the nut, but then is too bulky to turn within the housing.

It is truly useless! This makes the process extremely tiring and time consuming. Very dangerous. Should have just gone to lowes. No use, it is completely and utterly dead.

Black plastic sub-base is not flat. It tapers in thickness, being thinner at the outer edge. This is in part due to what i consider a design flaw.

    They were made from white oak and needed a 3 foot dado in the bottom of the door for the floor mounted guide
