The difference is astounding. It's everything the reviewers claim. Routers are delicate instruments and knocking them around matters.
Hp full size routers. Comes with a standard base and a plunge base, takes 1/4 shank and 1/2 shank bits. I generally leave the plastic base on, to avoid marring the wood it slides over.
Cons

Black plastic sub-base is not flat. It tapers in thickness, being thinner at the outer edge. This is in part due to what i consider a design flaw.
A great way to burn up a hundred bucks. No use, it is completely and utterly dead. My answer is a definite and resounding noooooooo!
Disapointed in makita. I’m generally a fan of makita but this is meh.

The depth adjustment is a simple clamp and rack and pinion arrangement and works well.
Has about everything you need for many uses, well made, nice case to store everything.
Only cons i have- no attachments included except for the guide.
Not a huge issue but when you have a lot of tools it helps to keep track and easily find them on a job.
Shipping
The price was great, and it came quite quickly also.

I purchased this trim router because of the great reviews and because makita brand tools always deliver.

I used a generic tool bag for the router and even thought it was marked with permanent marker it took me a while to find it
