Pros

It is a quality, intuitive device which is compatible with your existing makita batteries and chargers. All good cordless/ battery powered tools that work well need good quality batteries.

Plenty of power, quite, with just the right amount of suction to pick up the leaves and small twigs without getting rocks and mulch. Shreds leaves into small pieces, chokes on small pieces of shredded hardwood mulch.

Cons

It hooks this system directly to your garbage pale so it eliminates constantly having to empty the bag.

Even small pebbles and bark chunks will go right through into the bag.

For comparison, i had to switch out batteries three times before my son had to switch out the batteries once on the xbu02z.
