I’ve only ever used mine with the large amp hour batteries.
Even the 1820 batteries last a long time in this thing, very impressed!
With the quality makita gives for even less cost in comparison, i think i’ll be buying makita going forward.
But the reality is that they're build quality is generally lower and they're much more bulky and clunky to use.

I bought this driver to build a 10x20 foot enclosed office space (8-foot ceiling) inside of a large warehouse.
Compared to the competition:the closest competitor to the makita xdt16 is milwaukee's 2854-20 (their newest 1/4 hex impact driver).
These three modes will actually make a diy’er look like a seasoned pro when screwing into wood or steel.

A similar milwaukee impact driver or the dewalt 887 ive used for years lacks the precision the makita has

This thing is a monster and has great control i had to turn the power down from 4 because i blew a 3” deck screw 1” deep into a 4x4 just testing it out
