Makita hammer drill is the best hammer drill on the market! It has a metal chuck, smooth acceleration, and enough torque to do anything you can do with a 1/2 bit. It's not unnecessarily heavy. This is for heavy duty drilling.

This is a smooth running heavy duty drill and i am happy with it, just be prepared for the weight.
And this has the good chuck, made in japan
If this drill doesn't last me at least 2 years, then i am completely done with makita drills.
Super annoying to have it start hammering all of a sudden.
Price
If you are looking at the cheaper models… save time and money and get this one.

I have tried pretty much every other brands hammer drill and nothing compares with this makita!
I haven't had much luck with makita's torque drills.
