Makita xmu05z grass shear is a good tool. The blades are very sharp and the motor is sufficiently powerful to clip all grass/weeds that it encounters on my lawn. It’s also great to lightly trim bushes in my yard.

The makita extended handle works well on this model xmu05z even though the handle specs only state that it is compatible with the xmu04z

I bought this because my lawn is surrounded by playground bark and a string trimmer would flick sharp objects around

I do have to rake the bark away but it cuts a decent edge
