Trimmer is light-weight and adjustable. Makita 18v 5ah battery lasts two complete 3/4-acre yard trims. I have just under 1 acre yard with many landscaped areas to trim.

Good battery life and excellent cutting. They have matching batteries which is so helpful. I have makita drills so battery interchangeability was a consideration.

Cons

Makita 02z has a vulnerable brushed motor; all other models have the brushless motor. I've been disappointed in the tool's performance. Last year, the product completely died, that's just 2 years after purchase. No update from makita, no returns to ma... Read More

Packaging/appearance

The weed eater is easy to use right out of the box when you get the battery charged.

Competitiveness

I use it with an 3ah battery that is used daily and is a couple years old (great batteries).

24 or 18v battery last quite awhile, don't think iv killed a 24v yet but am doing other things also, that lets he battery cool.

While they are significantly cheaper than makita, it’s not worth it.

Would recommend a 4ah or 5ah battery to use with it.
