Quality

This product works as advertised and the batteries seem to last forever!

The quality from makita is amazing, we now have three of them and the first one we bought about three years ago still works great.

This is a handy little saw, it's let down by some quality issues.

I never could cut straight with the dewalt.

Packaging/appearance

I’ve also used the 60v dewalt rear handle saw on jobs side by side this and have a few observations for comparison’s sake.

Competitiveness

It's much more than just doubling the cut time as a 36v motor has much more power, torque and runs cooler than a 18v motor.

The rapid dual charger is almost a must have for this saw as it will charge a set of 5ah batteries in about 45 min.

Too bad makita just released a 40v in the states.

Made a 12x12 2x4 floor for a shed with one full charge of both batteries still had plenty of juice.
