Pros & Cons
Pros
The length and thickness are ideal for me. The foam is firm, but soft. It's nice and thin but very cushiony. I practice on a hard tile floor and this mat is very comfy.
The best mat for me is the one that keeps you from slipping and sliding when you start to get wet and sweaty. I'm a big sweaty guy, so stickiness is my priority. It is quite heavy so i will keep this one for vinyasa and my cheap smooshy lightweight on... Read More
This manduka is just as tacky as the jade, but it's larger and cushier. The smell of the material is a bit strong and lasts a long time before it begins to fade. But in terms of sticking and not sliding around, it is great.
It's a little heavier but that doesn't bother me. As other posters mention it does off-gas for the first wee or two but was not an issue for me.
It has the grip i need for vinyasa, hatha and yin yoga. The pricier pro has a 5mm thickness as well.
Cons
I wish that i had gone with the manduka black mat that so many of my classmates have and rave about. It's just not as good as the lululemon reversible mat.
After a year it still smells like rubber. It rubs off on my hands when using it and on the cloth when cleaning it. It's very distracting to practice yoga with such a strong smell.

I have always used cheap mats, which are super slippery and never grippy.

I have many yoga mats from many different companies, from low end to high end.
I just purchased another manduka mat, but opted for the pro (6mm 79x52 size).
