Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

I find it to be very comfortable despite its firmness. Manduka mat is just as stable and firm as the original yet cushioned. The toyota tacoma of yoga mats.

This mat is so sturdy and sticky for my hot yoga practice. Scrub down twice with dawn power soaps and scrub mommy. From my many years of washing dishes and from chemistry class, i know that soap is phenomenal at removing grease from surfaces.

It smells so good (and i don't like most scents). Can't recommend the mat highly enough. What an upgrade from gaiam.

On to the slipperiness. It is dense and sticky, but not sticky like a rubber mat. It easily grips so no slipping or sliding. They work great so far, and hold on the mat very good, do become a little crumpled while i am doing other poses.

Cons

The substance manduka uses on these mats is very slippery. It is so sticky, yuk! Well actually, it's even slippery when my palms get a little sweaty during my home practice. My downward dogs slide into oblivion.

This mat is a huge disappointment. The mat is basically unusable now.

It's great that manduka offers these irregular mats for sale (to reduce waste), but it's not ok for the 3rd party seller to omit that information from the website description.

The frog logo is about the only thing i like. I typically have to put my jade yoga travel mat over this thing to make it usable. Choose jade instead—it’s a real quality mat!

Quality

Its a great mat , really good for my knees- firm yet provided cushion is so supportive.

This yoga mat feels solid and is now not slippery.

This time, i used table salt and rubbed it into the mat and let it sit for over 24 hours and it's not slippery anymore.

It doesn't quit, it's durable, and it'll take whatever you throw at it.

I borrow this mat in my yoga class and wanted one for myself but the price was a lot.
