Pros & Cons
Pros
It can be filled with carbon or any filter media small enough to fit in it. They hold twice as much charcoal than premade filter. Increases carbon filtration above the blue filter alone at least 3x.
Great source now for biomedia. This helps quite a bit. Very nice.
Each filter is a snap-together two piece set. They are sturdy and are simple to clean or fill with product. I'm really impressed with how sturdy these are.
It stops my mug from discoloring my wood furniture. Scotchbrite pads are great for this.
Cons
The plastic is very flimsy. The openings are too narrow to effectively use to hold filter pad. The weird compartments make them hard to fill, empty, and clean when using for carbon and such.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to clean and versatile product, i use it to hold reusable filter medias (poly filters) rather than it’s intended used.
Very sturdy, and easy to fill with carbon and zeolite.
If you are worried about too much flow in your tank just buffer the output so it breaks up and is not a jet or water.
Simply dump the contents in the trash and refill whenever you change your filter for crystal clear water all the time.
Price
Great price and saves me money long run
Great idea it's more cost-effective and it works perfect with the right sponge filters
Very cheap for a reusable filter cart.
Save money while adding as much carbon or zeolite or whatever you want.
Competitiveness
I run a lot of marineland penguin filters, and they use a total of 34 filter cartridges.
