They're worth it, but a little pricey for me right now.
I bought these for $34 dollars 4 years ago, and today they're listed over $45 so the price has gone up significantly.
Packaging/appearance
I find it a little large to pack, as i tend to use a medium sized suitcase which fills up quickly.
Competitiveness
I have purchased electronic sound machines by 5 other brands and this sound is the best.
This is my third one (my first with the yogasleep brand).
For those of you who haven't used this brand/model before, there is no substitute for the real fan in this thing.
Luckily found them at a lower price at a competitor site!

But i used to own a metal one years ago which had a deeper richer sound although without a sidebyside comparison that could be in my head

And then this year it finally started to have a lil bit of rattle mixed in to the pleasant droney drone drone of its sound

It only has two sound level settings which may seem minimal and lacking to some

However the way it is designed on each setting you also can twist the entire outer facing of the machine through about 20 degrees and that opens or closes side vents that either increase or decrease the sound level emitted as well as the tonal quality and then at the same time the top panel can be rotated to either open or close sever small holes on the top of the machine

What you end up with is two settings of volume but with a wide swath of soundtone gradient

I find that i might want a different tone for background noise vs sleeping and something different for a yappy dog vs a distant jack hammer etc

Depending on how sensitive you are this may not go soft enough to be place right beside the bed or in a small room w the subject

Also it is in the category of whitegrey noise some people like that others dont so you may want to try a sample of that type of noise from an online sample before buying if this is your first time
