He was very pleased with the sound.
As a finger picker, i should have tried these years ago, but was happy with the sound i knew.
I have a couple of small body guitars and i've always been frustrated with the boominess of the low e, a and d strings.
Packaging/appearance
These actually sound very balanced out of the pack.
I also think, as martin claims on the pack, that the playability of the strings is great.
Competitiveness
Great choice for those who are not sure what they want in an accoustic string set.
I bought them for a customer's vintage guitar.

Other strings sound too bright at first sometimes such that you want to break them in or get them dirty even

Here the strings sound a little weak and daddarios would probably serve the acoustic blues player better

They dont really have enough focus and volume as single strings and make them come up a little short if one will be playing single note styles outside of bluegrass flatpicking
